Worst Ramen experience : On the Wok #206

On Christmas Eve, 2019 I visited On the Wok along with 2 of my friends.
Food Review: We ordered Crispy Garlic Prawns from starters, all meat ramen noodles soup, Bibimbap and Chicken Pad Thai for main course with some cold drinks.
Garlic Prawns : The Prawns were fresh and nicely cooked, had a subtle flavor of garlic to it.
Ramen noodles soup : I had never tried Ramen before… So it was my first time trying it. Although the portion was good and it looked quite appetizing, I didn’t like the taste at all. My friend who had tried Ramen quite a few times before told me that it was not at all near the original ramen. Otherwise I would have never tried Ramen for what the first impression.
Bibimbap : Bibimbap is Korean style fried rice with lots of veggies and meat and seafood. We opted for Prawns Bibimbap. Authentic or not, the taste was quite good.
Pad Thai : Lookwise they nailed it, taste was good for “noodles”. I cannot judge how good it was for authentic Pad Thai. I really liked the roasted peanuts and sprouts in it, adding an extra dimension to the experience. What I have read about Pad Thai is that it must have tangy, sweet, bitter, spicy- all the flavors in it… That’s what makes Pad Thai special. However I didn’t feel anything like that.
Ambiance : The ambiance is nice and cozy. While I was dining with my friends, we saw few couples and families around. The seating area is not very huge. The decorations on the wall were quite cool.
Service : The service was not the best. We requested the waiter to pack the food that we couldn’t finish and he blurted out “20 Rs. Per package”. I mean it wasn’t that their packaging was world class or anything.
Over all I would rate my experience at On the Wok 3.5 stars out of 5.
Will I visit On the Wok again?
I don’t think so!
